One rainy afternoon in San Francisco's Richmond district chef Erik Lowe was eating a Ban Mi sandwich and enjoying a bowl of Pho. He thought to dip the sandwich in the Pho Broth, and boom, the "Saigon Dip" was born. This is not a dish on the menu at Maybeck's but chef Erik had great success with it at past endeavors, using slowly roasted pork. Chef Michael Pihl has taken this dish to the next level by adding Smoked Duck Breast, Confit, Gamy Duck Jus and a Crunchy Baguette.
